November & fall 2016 likely near warmest ever

The month of November is shaping up to be one of the warmest on record.  Even with our recent snows and our cold blast back to reality, the month will still likely finish in the top 5 warmest since records began in 1872.  This coming on the heels of a near record warm September and October, It has literally been the streak of the ages for nice weather this fall with comfortable temperatures lasting weeks longer than normal.  In fact, the first 18 days of November were all above average.  Even IF the rest of our November finishes near normal (that’s what is currently in the forecast) fall 2016 will likely be one of the top 3 warmest of all time, going head to head with last year and one of the Dust Bowl era years, 1931.  Now that we have snow on the ground in many locations, I’d say our wonderful ride has come to an end, but that doesn’t mean temperatures can’t maintain their above average status, I just wouldn’t expect 70s again anytime soon.
