Students from St. Croix Lutheran Academy celebrated a special prom Friday night in West St. Paul, Minnesota.

Night to Shine welcomed about 220 guests with special needs, ages 14 and older.

Attendees received VIP treatment including hair and makeup stations, shoe shining stations, corsages and boutonnieres, karaoke, limo rides, and of course, dancing.

"There are three reasons. Number one, to honor our guests and let them know with 100 percent certainty that they are loved, cherished and precious. Second, we want the parents and caregivers to feel the same way. And third, we want to part of changing how people with special needs are seen in our society," said Lorna Kapanke, the co-chair of the event.

The prom was put on thanks to the Tim Tebow Foundation. The former NFL quarterback's organization helped put on similar proms all around the world Friday night.
