More than $900,000 donated to boy injured at Mall of America

A week after a five-year-old boy was thrown from the third level of the Mall of America, donations to help him recover are now nearing the $1 million mark.

As of Friday evening, more than $900,000 has been raised on his GoFundMe page. The donations have been pouring in with more than 25,000 people contributing.

In an update released by a family representative, the boy is starting to show "real signs of recovery." The family expressed their gratitude for the support and many prayers.

"Just know that we absolutely feel your overwhelming love, prayers and support, for they seem to be working," read the statement. "Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts."

Emmanuel Aranda, the man suspected of throwing the boy, was charged with attempted murder. He had his first court appearance earlier this week.
