MNsure reports record number of enrollments
(KMSP) - MNsure reports a record 116,358 Minnesotans enrolled in private health plans for 2018, beationg last year’s enrollment record of 114,810. Thirty percent of MNsure enrollees were new this year.
More than 60 percent of MNsure enrollees qualified for advanced premium tax credits averaging nearly $7,000 per year for households.

The U.S. House of Representatives passed a new tax bill that ends the federal requirement to buy health insurance and the tax penalty that came with it. While that creates uncertainty about the future sustainability and affordability of exchanges such as MNsure, it will have no effect on coverage for 2018.
