5-year-old girl missing after Bemidji house fire

The Bemidji Police Department is asking the public's help to find a 5-year-old who went missing after a house fire on Wednesday, June 22.

Police say she was visiting a home on the 3900 block of Irvine Avenue when a fire broke out. After crews brought the fire under control, an adult's body was found inside the home. Investigators searched the scene and could not find the girl.

She is described as 34 inches tall, 50 pounds with blonde hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, pink skirt with stars, and a pink bandage on her arm covering poison ivy. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bemidji Police Department at 218-333-9111. 

Police are holding a 1 p.m. press conference Thursday in Bemidji to provide more information.
