Minnesotans play Powerball on the heels of a much bigger jackpot

While the Mega Millions jackpot is no longer up for grabs, Wednesday’s Powerball drawing was benefiting from the lotto fever.

Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot was less than half the record $1.6 billion Mega Millions jackpot, but it was still the sixth largest Powerball in history.

The Mega Millions world record jackpot gained international attention, with more than 280 million tickets sold.

At Bobby and Steve’s Auto World in Eden Prairie, employees said lottery sales slowed dramatically Wednesday, following the hype of the Mega Millions.
