Governor Mark Dayton faints, collapses while speaking at event
WOODBURY, Minn. (KMSP) - Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton was released from the hospital Monday afternoon and expects to be back at work Tuesday, a spokesman confirmed. The governor fainted and collapsed while speaking at an event in Woodbury, Minn. on Sunday night.
“The governor has been released from Regions Hospital, having been treated for dehydration," spokesman Bob Hume said. "He will be returning to the residence shortly and will return to a normal schedule tomorrow. He is grateful for the excellent level of care he received while a patient at Regions.”

"Earlier this evening, the governor was at an event in Woodbury that was very crowded and hot. As he was speaking, he began to feel increased pressure in his lower back. At that point, the governor fainted and was transported to Regions Hospital for further testing. He will remain there overnight for observation as a precaution. The governor is resting comfortably and joking with family, doctors, and staff.”
