Minneapolis prisoner escapes during transfer on I-90

A prisoner broke-out the rear window of an inmate transit van and escaped along Interstate 90 near Albert Lea, Minn. early Wednesday morning. According to the Freeborn County sheriff’s office, privately-owned Inmate Services Corporation of Arkansas called to report an escape at 4:38 a.m.

The transport van was traveling toward St. Paul, Minn. when Todd Larry Tennin, 31, escaped near mile marker 154. Albert Lea police and Freeborn County deputies searched the area and found Tennin near the SuperAmerica gas station at I-90 and Highway 13.

Tennin was taken back into custody without further incident and transported to the Mayo Clinic Health Systems of Albert Lea for treatment of minor injuries. Tennin is being charged locally for criminal damage to property and escape from custody.
