Police investigating murder of child in south Minneapolis

Cory Morris, 21, was convicted Thursday for murdering his five-month-old daughter. 

 A four-month-old girl is dead and her father has been arrested as Minneapolis police continue to investigate.

The Minneapolis Police Department says the incident occurred just after 5:00 p.m. Saturday night at 1907 Franklin Avenue SE. Paramedics tended to the infant for injuries from an assault. She was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead. Police do not believe anyone else was home at the time of the incident.

The child's father, 21-year-old Cory Morris, was arrested on probable cause for murder.
