Minneapolis police investigate after 2 people were shot during bar close brawl

It was a chaotic scene at bar close early Saturday morning in Minneapolis after police arrived to the sound of gunfire and people running from the scene.

Police responded to a call at the 400 block of 3rd Avenue North in Minneapolis shortly after 2 a.m. where they found a man who had been shot in the ankle. The other victim - who was shot in the arm - had already been take into the hospital.

The incident caps off a busy week for Minneapolis Police. On Thursday, officers were called to 21st and Bryant to investigate what would turn out to be the cities’ 36th murder of 2016. Quintel Flowers, 25, and Nicole Rantal, 25, were later arrested in connection with the shooting.

During the brawl, police also said an officer's squad was hit by a car. The officer later fired his gun into that car, but police said neither the officer nor the occupant(s) was hurt.
