A Minneapolis church is showing solidarity with the victims of a believed hate crime shooting near the University of Minnesota.

Wednesday morning, two Somali-American men were shot near 14th Avenue SE and 6th Street SE. The shooter allegedly made derogatory remarks about Muslims before firing at five men wearing Islamic attire. Two men were each shot in the leg.

The University Lutheran Church of Hope, which is located just a block away from where the shooting took place, decided to take a stand against the violence.

After the church's 10 a.m. service, members walked together to the shooting scene and prayed together.

"This is a block from our church, this is our neighborhood too and we need to be present and part of how we do our presence is we come and pray, " said Jen Nagel, the pastor at University Lutheran Church of Hope.
