Metro Transit workers vote to authorize strike during Super Bowl activities

Members of the union representing Metro Transit worked voted to reject a contract and authorize a strike during the events leading up to the Super Bowl.

Monday, 93 percent of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1005 members voted against the contract offer. But leaders of the union say there is "still time" left to avoid the strike.

After the vote, the union contacted the mediator and is ready to schedule mediation dates with Metro Transit.
