Minneapolis Police Chief Harteau reappointed to second term

Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges announced on Wednesday that she’s reappointing Police Chief Janeé Harteau to a second term. Each term lasts 3 years. She was initially appointed by former Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak and assumed the post in 2012.

“I am pleased and honored by Mayor Hodges' decision in allowing me to continue our partnership and hope to have my appointment confirmed by the Council. Together we have made tremendous progress in improving public safety, public trust and transparency. I am proud to have the opportunity to continue to lead such a professional and committed department and I am excited to see how we will build upon our recent successes,” Chief Harteau said in a statement.
