Stoneman Douglas hockey team wins state title, will play in Minnesota

(KMSP) - The Marjory Stoneman Douglas varsity hockey team will be traveling to Minnesota next month to compete in the USA Hockey National High School Tournament. 

Stoneman Douglas entered the tournament as a No. 4 seed. They upset the top seed 3-1 in the semi-finals and won the title 7-4 Sunday. 

The title comes just 11 days after a mass shooting at the Florida high school took the lives of 17 people. 

The USA Hockey National High School Tournament will be at the Plymouth Ice Center from March 22-26.
