(KMSP) - Cody Pech was sentenced Friday after he pleaded guilty to hitting three Rogers High School students in Otsego, Minnesota, last January.
According to court documents, Pech received a stayed sentence of 28 months. He will serve 150 days in jail or work release if he is eligible. He will also be on probation for five years.
Pech was charged with three counts of criminal vehicular operation after he hit the three teens shortly before 7 a.m. Jan. 19, 2017, near Parrish Ave NE and 78th St.
Hitting the students isn't believed to be intentional, but court papers say he was driving with such "gross negligence" when he caused the crash.
