Man in critical condition after rear-end crash crushes a sedan in Wisconsin

A man is in critical condition after a Ford Taurus was rear-ended by a pickup truck in Barron County, Wisconsin Thursday morning.

The incident occurred on Hwy. 8 east of Almena, Wisconsin at 7:20 a.m. Thursday morning. An initial investigation showed the Taurus was driven by MaryAnn Desilvio, 77, of Almena.

The sedan was stopped on Hwy. 8 waiting to turn into her driveway when a truck driven by 30-year-old Travis Peterson ran into her.

Donald Desilvio, 53, was also in the Taurus. He was extracted from the vehicle and transported to Mayo Hospital in critical condition. MaryAnn Desilvio was also transported to Mayo with serious injuries.

The driver of the truck sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Hwy. 8 was closed for a few hours, but re-opened Thursday.
