ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) - The Ramsey County attorney’s office is charging one man in a double homicide that took place in St. Paul early Thursday morning.
Officers responded to a report of multiple gunshots at an apartment at 271 Forbes Avenue around 12:40 a.m. Inside the upstairs apartment, they found Dominic Jasper, 26, and Kavonta Pratt, 23, and who were pronounced dead on the scene.
While responding to the call of shots fired, police also found a third man with gunshot wounds on the sidewalk near 7th Street W. and Smith Avenue. He was listed in critical condition at a local hospital.
A witness told police she was in her apartment with the three victims and two of her roommates when a man knocked on the door, claiming to be police. When one of the roommates opened the door, Jamaine Williams, 24, pointed a handgun at her and told her to get out of the way, before shooting.
The witness told police Williams was her ex-boyfriend and at the time of the shooting she had been in a relationship with Jasper, one of the victims. Williams was reportedly jealous and had come to the apartment before, threatening to kill all of them.
Williams is charged with two counts of second degree murder, one count of attempted second degree murder.
