Mahtomedi, Minn. family injured after hitting black bear on I-35

- Three family members from Mahtomedi, Minnesota, were injured Sunday night when their car struck a black bear on Interstate 35. 

A Toyota Yaris was traveling southbound on I-35 north of Highway 70 near Rock Creek when it hit the bear, according to the State Patrol. The car went off the road and struck the cable barrier before coming to a stop. 

The driver, 42-year-old Huihong Lim and his two passengers, 16-year-old Josiah Lim and 12-year-old Micha Lim, suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash.

The State Patrol says the black bear did not survive.
