Minneapolis spa-salon offers day of pampering to homeless

A Minneapolis salon offered a day of pampering and relaxation to the homeless. "A Day of Pampering" bright families from People Serving People to Taj Spa and Salon on Washington Avenue for haircuts and massages from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. The salon workers donated their time to provide these services.

"At Taj, part of our mission and vision is to care for our community and earth," owner Andria Strandin said. "We take this serious and to heart. This specific event is something we have been wanting to do for a long time. We have other team members who have done this on their own time and we wanted to bring it to another level and help and give back to more individuals. I'm so proud of our team for making giving back a part of their lifestyle."

"People Serving People is so grateful for this opportunity for our guests," said Jennifer Swick, parent and community engagement manager at People Serving People. "Our families will benefit tremendously from the love and care of Taj, helping them know they are not alone during this stressful time for them."

People Serving People is the largest family-focused homeless shelter in Minnesota.
