June recap

- Another month down and another month with warm temperatures.  While we saw nothing particularly unusual most of the month, a couple of days saw near record highs which pushed our overall average up from where it should be.  We finished the month of June just over 2 degrees above average which adds to the growing list of above average months so far in 2016, now 6 for 6.  The good news though, is a lot of times the warmth can come with dry weather, but in most cases we have seen near normal rainfall.  That waned a little in western portions of the state this month with drought beginning to expand from Alexandria to Willmar, but the rest of the area continues to see near normal precipitation and good soil conditions.  Let’s hope that will last into the fall!
