Iowa officials find 300 pounds of marijuana in RV during traffic stop

- Authorities in Fremont County, Iowa stopped an RV on I-29 last week and found approximately 300 pounds of marijuana.

It was around 2:40 p.m. Friday when the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office made the stop of the 2017 Chevy Coachman RV for several moving violations. A K9 deployed at the scene alerted officers to the presence of controlled substances.

When officers searched the RV, they uncovered approximately 300 pounds of “high grade marijuana” according to a release from the sheriff’s office. Police estimate the street value of the marijuana at over $2.8 million.

Deputies arrested Richard Jordan, 65, of North Carolina; Elwood Perry Jr., 44, of Virginia and Patrick Hawes, 45, of Virginia. All three were charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. They were taken to Fremont County jail.
