History could be made at the state basketball tournament Saturday night

- Minneapolis' DeLaSalle high school boys basketball team is going for their fifth straight state championship. They’ve won every championship since 2012.

The Islanders will take on Fergus Falls in the class AAA finals at 5:00pm. The 2016 team is the youngest coach Thorson has coached. This year’s main rotation consists of two juniors, three sophomores, and one freshman.

If they win, it will be Dave Thorson’s 500th career win as the high school basketball coach at DeLaSalle. Thorson has been with the Islanders for 22 years.

The Islanders beat Fridley in the quarter-finals and Monticello in the semi-finals on Thursday.
