High-speed chase, fatal crash on the Crosstown at Cedar

A police chase that started with a report of a robbery at a Holiday gas station in Eagan, Minn. ended with a fatal crash on Crosstown Highway 62 at Cedar Avenue in Minneapolis. After the crash, it was determined the suspect vehicle was not involved in the robbery, but was in fact stolen out of Indiana.

According to Eagan police, a robbery was reported at the Holiday gas station at 3044 Holiday Lane at 1:28 a.m. Friday. Responding officers spotted a car with no license plates leaving the area of the robbery, and the car sped away when officers attempted a traffic stop.

The fleeing car crashed at Highway 62 and Cedar Avenue. The driver was the only occupant of the car, and they were pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is being investigated by the Minnesota State Patrol, and the Eagan Police Department is still attempting to identify the suspect of the gas station robbery.
