(KMSP) - Roads surrounding a Life Time Fitness in Eagan, Minnesota, have reopened after a more than 24-hour closure due to a gas leak, according to authorities.
The leak was originally caused by excavation equipment that struck a pipe Monday afternoon, with more than 100 personnel showing up to monitor air quality and clean up the area around the fitness center. Several roadways were temporarily closed due to the incident.
Magellan Midstream Partners said more than 300 barrels of gasoline leaked from their pipeline system, which includes a 12'' pipeline that transports petroleum products from Rosemount to Minneapolis.
A few nearby businesses were also evacuated as a result.
Nobody was injured throughout the leak and subsequent cleanup, with Eagan Fire saying that the leak was more of an environmental concern than anything else.
A section of the Life Time Fitness' parking complex remained inaccessible as of Tuesday evening, with authorities directing gym goers to take an alternate route to access the lot.
