The FBI raided the offices of multiple chiropractors in Minneapolis on Tuesday. Sources tell Fox 9 these raids are connected to long-term investigations involving insurance fraud.

Tuesday morning, FBI agents and members of the Minnesota Department of Commerce Fraud Bureau executed a search warrant inside Morrow Accident Rehab Center and Meyer Injury Center and Chiropractic Clinic. State records show the chiropractor who owns the combined businesses in the historic St. Anthony Main district is Dr. Angela Schulz.

Investigators appeared very interested in computers, files and perhaps a video recording device. The office had a temporary closed sign posted in the front window.

This is just one of perhaps as many as 10 chiropractic and pain management and treatment centers raided Tuesday. The FBI is not saying anything about the specifics of the potential criminal activity at this time.

The Insurance Federation of Minnesota welcomed the law enforcement crackdown, explaining that fraud of any kind ends up costing their firms and average consumers big time.

“Greed is a big factor. We know providers will pay people to stage accidents, fake accidents, and they will ring up medical claims that shouldn’t be paid,” said Mark Kulda of the Insurance Federation of Minnesota. “A lot of these providers do it for the greed, but you never know where the money is going.”
