Fatal stabbing near University of Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - Minneapolis police are investigating a fatal stabbing at University Ave SE and 13 Ave SE, which is just steps away from the University of Minnesota campus.

At about 7:30 p.m., officers found the stabbed man in a car, which was parked just outside of University Baptist Church. Emergency crews took the man to HCMC, where he later died.

Police say the victim, a man in his 20s, has died. Officers took another man into custody at the scene. Neither person is a student at the University of Minnesota. Police say the two men knew each other and had been friends.
