Fatal shooting at 31st and Colfax in north Minneapolis

Minneapolis police are investigating another deadly shooting in north Minneapolis. Officers responded to the intersection of 31st Avenue N. and Colfax Avenue N. at 12:15 a.m. Sunday on a ShotSpotter activation.

When officers arrived, they found a man in the street suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers provided medical care until paramedics arrived. The victim was taken to North Memorial Medical Center where he was taken to surgery, but passed away.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim’s name, as well as the cause and nature of his death.
