Faribault, Minn. man hit by car while walking dog

A 77-year-old man who was hit by a car while walking his dog in Faribault, Minn. on Thursday later passed away at a Twin Cities hospital. Harvey Hanson died early Friday morning at North Memorial Medical Center, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

Hanson was at the intersection of 2nd Avenue NW and 5th Street NW when he was hit. His dog ran home after the accident, and was not injured, according to a Faribault Daily News report.

The driver of the car was cooperative with police, and the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
