Fair goes purple for Prince
FALCOLN HEIGHTS, Minn. (KMSP) - For the second day of the Minnesota State Fair, the usual sea of people had a distinctly purple hue as people all across the fairgrounds honored Prince with “Unite in Purple” Day.
John Frazier borrowed a suit from a friend to pay tribute to the recently deceased icon from head-to-toe.
“A lot of comments and a lot of ‘hey can I get a picture taken with you?’ and a lot of that,” said Frazier. “I wish I was charging for pictures.”
In addition to wearing purple people celebrated the event by watching Prince movies, like Graffiti Bridge, eating purple-dyed fair food, and checking out artwork of the icon. Prince’s touring DJ also spun for a dance party during the evening.
“Minnesota, the world loves Prince. Why not represent at the state fair? What better place than the Minnesota get-together? That's what we do,” said Kim Lawson, a Prince fan.
On this night to unite at the State Fair, the color purple looked good on everyone.
