Extreme Sandbox is for kids of all ages

When you're a kid it's fun to play with heavy equipment toys like Tonka Trucks, but for an adult the real life heavy equipment can leave you stuck at one of our many road construction projects. And those road projects can turn into a major traffic headaches. So what do you do?  Extreme Sandbox might have an answer.

Randy Stenger started Extreme Sandbox about four years ago. Strenger, who moved from a corporate job at Target, originally thought his idea of letting people play with heavy equipment, would be used for corporate team-building events.

However, Strenger has found people as young as 14 and as wise as 94 have enjoyed coming to Hastings to operate cranes, bulldozers, and the rest of those large machines we all see when driving by road construction.

Fox 9’s Jeff Passolt, who falls somewhere inside Strenger's demographic, found most of his road construction stress melt away as he played in the mammoth sandbox.
