Ex-Viking Leo Lewis on leave as North HS athletic director

Fox 9 has learned that former Vikings wide receiver and current Minneapolis North High School athletic director, Leo Lewis, is on administrative leave and is now the subject of a school district internal investigation.

When asked whether Lewis was escorted off the property Wednesday, a spokesman for Minneapolis Public Schools said "That’s not public data whether or not he was walked off."

Fox 9 reached out to Lewis at his Eden Prairie home, where he said he had no comment about the situation.

Lewis came to North High School in 2014 after being the associate athletic director at the University of Minnesota. Lewis' arrival was warmly welcomed by the school and community as their basketball and football teams have won state titles.

In addition to playing for the Vikings, Lewis played for the Cleveland Browns. Lewis grew up in the Twin Cities.

Fox 9 confirmed with Minneapolis police that Lewis is not under criminal investigation.

When asked if Lewis was being paid while on administrative leave, a spokesman for the school said that's not public information.
