Equipment stolen from St. Cloud group that honors POW/MIA

- A non-profit that raises awareness for military prisoners of war and those missing in action had valuable hot air balloon equipment stolen from their trailers in Waite Park, Minn.

Freedom Flight, which is based in St. Cloud, flies POW/MIA hot air balloons at events across the country. Their equipment was stored in three trailers at McKay's Family Dodge, but sometime over the past weekend those trailers were broken into, according to police.

The thieves stole about $10,000 worth of equipment, which included two high power balloon inflation fans and a propane burner.

“All we do is honor our U.S. military veterans and raise awareness about those who are still
prisoners of war or missing in action,” said Freedom Flight president, Luke Cesnik in a press release. “Why would anyone do such a thing? This is a serious setback to our volunteer
efforts.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Waite Park police at (320)251-3281 or leave a message on the Tri-County Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 1-800-255-1301.
