Eden Prairie police officer fires shots at fleeing motorcyclist

An Eden Prairie, Minn. police officer fired shots at motorcyclist early Saturday morning during a chase on city roads. The incident happened around 3 a.m. Saturday morning, when the Eden Prairie officer initiated a pursuit of a fleeing motorcyclist on Eden Prairie Road.

The brief pursuit ended at Eden Prairie Road and North Lund Road, when the officer fired his weapon.

The motorcyclist sustained an injury to his arm, but is not confirmed whether the injury is a bullet wound or a motorcycle-related injury. The rider was taken to the hospital where he was being treated for a non-life-threatening injury.

Authorities have not released the rider's identity, and the Hennepin County sheriff's office is investigating the incident.
