Dozens of couples tie knot in free ceremonies in downtown Minneapolis

Love was in the air in downtown Minneapolis on Wednesday as dozens of couples tied the knot over the lunch hour at the Hennepin County Government Center.

Hennepin County was offering free marriage ceremonies for Valentine’s Day. All the couples had to do was obtain a marriage license beforehand and sign up online. They could bring their own witnesses or use the court staff on hand.

Hennepin County District Court judges volunteered their time to officiate the weddings.
