The Rice Lake Animal Hospital is caring for a group of puppies and their mother that were born during the storm that tore through the Chetek, Wisconsin area last week.

MaryAnne, a four-year-old collie mix, gave birth to her litter of puppies during the storm. Another dog, Ginger, an eight-year-old collie mix, and her litter of puppies were also displaced by the storm. The Rice Lake Animal Hospital says the two dogs are co-parenting both litters of puppies.

The Rice Lake Animal Hospital said the dogs were both given complete exams, vaccinations and are currently being treated for tick-borne diseases. They are expected to make a full recovery.

Both dogs will be available for adoption once the puppies are weaned. The puppies will also be put up for adoption at that time.
