Dayton signs emergency order to help increase propane supply

With chilling subzero temperatures hitting Minnesota this weekend, Governor Mark Dayton is taking steps to help increase the supply of propane to people and businesses.

The increased need of propane heating has led to a decrease in available driving hours for trucking assets in the region.

Friday, Dayton issued an emergency executive order to lift restrictions on hours of service for motor carriers and drivers delivering propane, oil, gasoline, heating oil and diesel fuel.

The order will help heat more than 200,000 homes, 3,300 hog and 3,746 hog operations, and other farms and businesses across the state.
