DASHCAM: Near head-on crash in Detroit Lakes

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. (KMSP) - The Minnesota State Patrol is sharing dashcam video of a near head-on crash in Detroit Lakes as a reminder to always pay full attention to the road. The video was captured by the dashcam of a trooper who had stopped a vehicle towing a pontoon boat on Highway 59 on June 6.

The driver of the white sedan had just turned from a 4-lane highway onto the 2-lane cabin country road  when he drove into oncoming traffic. The man told the trooper he thought the other vehicle was to blame for the near head-on collision.

The driver was cited for failure to keep right/over the center line.
