Law enforcement officials are reminding motorists to slow down and move over for emergency vehicles, especially with the heavy snow expected Monday.

The Washington County sheriff's office shared a dash cam video from Jan. 15 of one of their deputies who was nearly struck by an oncoming car while attending to a vehicle involved in a different accident.

The video shows the deputy standing at the back door of another vehicle on the right shoulder of the road in Hugo, Minnesota. An oncoming car in the far right lane strikes the back of the vehicle, knocking the deputy to the ground.

The deputy was not severely injured, but the Washington County sheriff's office says the accident "could have been much worse."

The driver that caused the crash was cited by the Minnesota State Patrol.
