Community gathers to mourn Minnehaha Academy explosion

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - Hundreds of people gathered at the Minnehaha Academy Lower Campus Wednesday night for a prayer service honoring those affected by this morning's explosion, caused by a gas leak.

Minnehaha Academy president Donna Harris was also at the service, having left the hospital earlier in the day.

Harris said she was grateful for responders who helped save her and countless others.

"They just talked us down the ladder and said they're going to take me all the way across," she said.

During the service, many expressed gratitude, saying that the day could have turned out worse.
