Cold temperatures can't scare Minnesota kids on Halloween

- What started off as a little Halloween display on the front yard of a house in 10th Avenue in Richfield morphed into an entire neighborhood of terror.

This year, even scarier were the cold temperatures that make every year a tossup when deciding on getups--though by now Minnesota parents have made an art out of fashioning costumes that can fit an entire parka underneath.

It certainly wasn't as bad as the Halloween Blizzard of 1991, a storm of almost mythical status here in the state, though many still took their children trick-or-treating inside the Mall of America to escape the weather.

For parents, the refrain was, "At least there wasn't any snow."
