A St. Louis Park man has been charged with felony third degree arson for allegedly going on a fire-setting spree in Minneapolis, damaging nearly 30 dumpsters and garbage cans and several vehicles.

According to the criminal complaint, 35-year-old Anthony Martin Binger faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, police received reports of multiple fires set near Nicollet Ave, Garfield Ave, and Harriet Avenue South in Minneapolis.

Police stopped a red truck that matched the description of the vehicle leaving the various fires. Binger, the driver, had a lighter on him and another in the vehicle.

Officers discovered Binger was intoxicated and cited him for a DWI.

The fires damaged 29 dumpsters and garbage cans, one shed, one garage, two cars, and one truck.

Binger is in custody at Hennepin County Jail.
