Celebration is a must at Twin Cities Pride festival

Celebration is necessary after the Supreme Court ruling on Friday gave same-sex couples the right to marry in all 50 states.

"The timing couldn't be any sweeter for this year's Twin Cities Pride Festival," Pride's Grand Marshall Andrea Jenkins said.

It has been more than two years since the law in Minnesota has been in effect, but many Minnesotans want to see more progress. Pride activists believe there is still much more work to be done.

The Pride Festival started on Friday at Loring Park -- a celebration of achievements in equality. The festival will continue Saturday, and it is expected to draw close to half a million people this year.
