BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (KMSP) - On Thursday night at the Mall of America, a 12-year-old Girl Scout from Burnsville and her father were selling cookies at a kiosk when someone swiped about $500 in cash.
At about 9:30 p.m., the girl's father was closing up shop at the kiosk in the Sears Court while his daughter went into a nearby store in search of her friend. Her father turned his back, and discovered their bag with cash from their sales and the cookie receipts had been stolen.
The theft was caught on mall surveillance. Bloomington police said they have video footage of the suspect and believe they’ll be able to identify him. The Mall of America is reimbursing the girl for all the money that was stolen.
