As temperatures continue to drop, police want to remind people about starting their cars and leaving them to run.

University of Minnesota police are warning students after they say car thefts are on the rise.

Police say most of the thefts are linked to people starting their cars and leaving them running to warm up. Students are also being reminded that you can get a ticket for leaving your car running, with the keys in the ignition with no one present.
