NEW HOPE, Minn. (KMSP) - Saturday was a big day for some very good pups as Can Do Canines celebrated its largest graduation ceremony to date.
It was not only the largest graduation ceremony, but also the most diverse. The 18 graduating teams included dogs now fully trained to help those with mobility difficulty, autism spectrum disorders, seizure disorders and even diabetes assistance.
People with the organization called it the happiest day of the year. But, they said their work is not even close to being done. There are 180 people on the waiting list for dogs right now.
Can Do Canines provides fully trained dogs free of charge to those who need them. The group said the key to getting more dogs trained each year is volunteers.
