BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (FOX 9) - Sears plans to close its store at the Mall of America in March in its latest round of store closings nationwide.
Sears Holdings, Inc. informed employees Thursday that it is closing 80 Sears and Kmart stores as part of its financial restructuring, according to a news release. The Bloomington, Minnesota store as well as the Kmart in Rochester are both slated to close.
Sears filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in October. Liquidation sales at the stores are expected to begin in two weeks.
Sears was one of the four flagship stores at the Mall of America when it opened in August 1992.
