MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - A popular pub near the University of Minnesota will remain open.
Bullwinkle's Saloon came under increased scrutiny following two shootings this summer that left one young man dead following a concert at the Ruby Lounge.
Minneapolis city officials shut down the Ruby Lounge, which was run by the same owners as Bullwinkle's, for operating as an unlicensed nightclub. Following the deadly shooting, the bar owners faced hundreds of dollars in fines for various violations. City leaders went as far as recommending to revoke their liquor license.
City officials confirmed Friday the owners paid off the fines, meaning Bullwinkle's will keep its liquor license and stay open.
