Big Lake, Minnesota K9 Bruno takes oath of office

The newest officer to join the Big Lake Police Department walked to the front of the room to take his oath of office from Mayor Raeanne Danielowski. As he waited for the mayor’s words, he sat obediently, ears pointed up and tongue hanging out.

Forty seconds later, K9 Officer Bruno was sworn in Wednesday night as the newest member of the Big Lake Police Department.

Bruno arrived in Minnesota from the Slovakia Republic in December of 2016. The 1 1/2-year-old German Shepard-Belgian Malinois completed his narcotic detection training in February of 2017 and patrol dog school in May of 2017.

Bruno will be keeping Big Lake safe with Sgt. Matthew Hayen. Congratulations Officer Bruno!
