Minneapolis Animal Control looking for fox that bit woman near Lake Harriet

UPDATE - Fox captured, killed by Animal Control

Authorities are asking the public to be on the lookout for a fox that bit woman near Lake Harriet in Minneapolis Tuesday afternoon.

According to the City of Minneapolis, the woman was bit by a fox near the corner of Lake Harriet Parkway and West Minnehaha Parkway. Authorities do not believe the animal was provoked. The bite was not severe and the woman was treated at a local hospital and released.

Minneapolis Animal Care and Control will be patrolling the area over the next 10 days in an effort to catch the fox. The public is asked to be on the lookout for the fox and report any sightings to the city.
