Orchestra Hall was decked in purple Sunday night in the name of philanthropy, to celebrate, demonstrate and share Prince’s love and compassion for all people.

Dawning their Sunday best, they filled the hall to commune over the importance of one of Prince’s favorite things to do – give back.

“I’m just here to give love,” said Mayte Garcia, the icon's ex-wife.

Performers Maya and Nandy McClean were also among those who took the purple carpet ahead of the main event.

“I’m about giving back, and to come and support the things he supported is always so important to me,” Garcia said.

Orchestra Hall also welcomed Sheila E., who was joined by her father, percussionist Pete Escovedo. Family, friends and fans were also there in the spirit of purple philanthropy and to preserve Prince’s legacy.

Proceeds from the benefit will benefit youth-based organizations that enroll students in music, arts, sports and education programs.
